The challenge
Singapore is fast becoming a global hub for technology and digital infrastructure, while the UK remains one of the most developed economies in the world.
Moving technology between these two countries requires careful planning, accurate documentation and compliance with country-specific regulations, licences and permits.
Following a global deal between a reseller and retailer, an IT distributor needed to move a shipment of high-value racks and servers from Singapore to the UK.
Since the distributor had limited knowledge of the export and import requirements, they required a partner who could manage the shipment from collection in Singapore through to final delivery in the UK.
Mouse & Bear were brought in to provide end-to-end Exporter of Record and Importer of Record support, including the arrangement of specialised packing, palletising and freight.
Our solution
We managed the shipment from the point of collection in Singapore through to delivery to the end customer in the UK.
Before shipment, we identified and arranged all documentation and approvals needed for the export and import, as some of the goods were controlled dual use.
We then arranged for the equipment to be collected, and coordinated specialist packing and palletising to ensure the racks and servers were prepared safely. Once packed and ready for shipment, we organised freight from Singapore to the UK.
When the goods had arrived at the UK border and were being processed at customs by our broker, we arranged the end delivery in advance, securing the required delivery ticket number and time slot with the end customer.
This avoided unnecessary delays and meant the shipment could move directly to its final destination once customs was cleared.
The results
With our support, the shipment of high-value racks and servers was successfully exported out of Singapore and imported into the UK.
By maintaining complete control over the shipment from start to finish – including collection, packing, freight, export clearance, import clearance and end delivery – Mouse & Bear ensured the goods arrived safely at their end destination without any unnecessary delays.
